Gold Fill

Unlike solid gold jewelry, gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold that is bonded to a base of another metal, such as sterling silver or copper. While gold-filled jewelry is typically less expensive than solid gold jewelry, it is actually more durable, looking shiny and new even with decades of wear. You can get gold-filled pieces wet and can wear when applying lotions or perfumes, etc. Even when worn daily, gold-filled jewelry can last 10-30 years. It is always recommended to remove it in salt water or chlorine or putting on any strong skincare products.

Gold Plate

Gold plating is a layer of gold applied to a base metal. It is recommended to keep it dry and away from skincare products. Remove to shower, don’t wear swimming, and avoid coming into daily contact with lotion, perfumes, and creams.
